Headteacher's Welcome
Dear Parents,
Our aim is to provide a secure, safe and positive environment in which your child can reach their full potential and become a responsible, trustworthy and caring member of society.
We have an enthusiastic, highly motivated staff committed to a caring, child-centred Christian ethos. We offer skilled teaching and a broad, balanced, creative curriculum concentrating on the education of the whole child whilst Literacy and Numeracy are seen as vital life skills and given appropriate emphasis. We have high expectations of children’s work and behaviour, striving to provide a high quality learning environment in which all children at St Matthew’s can flourish.
We work in close partnership with parents as we fully recognise the efforts you have made in helping your child to learn long before they come to our school. We believe that every parent should be informed of their child’s progress regularly and encourage you to become involved in your child’s education in whatever way you feel confident to do so.
We hope that our prospectus will give you a ‘feel’ for the life and work of the school and for the caring and friendly atmosphere I know you will find here. You are, of course, very welcome to come and look around for yourself; just ring the office to arrange a convenient time.
